It's been okay so far.
Ash is going to meet Hala and take the first trial in Episode 10, so the school setting is really just a "hub" for Ash to interact with his new friends. He'll still be battling and taking the island challenge in addition to going to school.

Don't understand why I got downvoted. I just feel like XandY (especially the second half and later Z) was so good. Then they change to the silliness and essentially reboot the series(again). Also, I'm not sure how I feel about him blatantly getting a "harem" of sorts. I get that's it's always kind of existed, but it just seems like they're playing it up. Though, I guess I can't say much since I haven't seen it yet.

Not only did Ash not win the league, even though he was so DAMN close, the whole Ash/Serena building that was going on just sorta... fell through. The kiss was nice and all but it just felt... empty.
You shouldn't end a series like that no matter what the next series is gonna be.

I can understand being a little hesitant to pick the new series up. My main reason for not watching it is because of how XY left me with such a bad taste in my mouth due to the ending. Not only did Ash not win the league, even though he was so DAMN close, the whole Ash/Serena building that was going on just sorta... fell through. The kiss was nice and all but it just felt... empty.
You shouldn't end a series like that no matter what the next series is gonna be.
