Personally, I think it's silly to pit these games against each other. There is no factual competition of any significance in terms of sales.

The Nintendo crowd will buy zelda first and foremost, and perhaps both games, if they have the money and they happen to have both consoles. But the odds that Nintendo loyals will forfeit Zelda and the Switch in order to play Horizon Zero Dawn is close to zilch.

On the other end of the spectrum, it's pretty much the same thing. The PS4 crowd will definitely not buy the new zelda or switch (wink) to nintendo just to play it. If anything, there might be a small margin of 'floating' or 'drifting' hardcore gamers that may be swayed toward either console depending on which game appeals to them most, but that's about it.

That being said, this picture really appeals to my sadistic side, which loves humiliation and women's sexy salty tears :D

For what it's worth, Zelda beat Horizon day one once you include Wii U sales, and the gap has since closed for Switch to PS4 sales, all on a 3-4 million userbase vs. a 60 million userbase. But both games are excellent nonetheless, and given what E3 showed us, I think it's clear 2017 is one for the gaming history books.

Horizon is so much more fun than BotW. BotW got boring a hour in. Horizon never got boring. I'm a big Zelda fan. But that game is very weak.

So now, I'm playing Horizon after beating Zelda awhile ago, so far its fucking fantastic. I love that we got both these great games to play.

Both have things that both excite me and annoy me. Horizons world is so incredibly beautiful that when looking back at Zelda I can't believe I never noticed how barren it looks "foliage, grass and woodland areas) are so packed with life and color, wind blowing everything. and beautiful crimson sunsets. And finding old civilization that you come to realize is OUR civilization blows me away with a feeling a nostalgia and horror, but also empathy and curiosity on what exactly happened. But that goddamm asinine saving system has made me just stop playing for an entire day a few times.

And Zelda world is still so "alive" with events happening everywhere, add this with the lovable characters and races of Zelda and its just such a great game. But man, kinda disappointed by the story being told via flashbacks. And there were a lot of dickish things in Zelda that frustrated me to no end, rain being a high one on the list. Last boss was also a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully the story DLC adds more closure. But I would probably still take that over losing an hour of gameplay because I didn't casually save at a bonfire like in Horizon.

I enjoyed both games immensely, and am now eagerly awaiting both of their respective sequels. Horizon was more memorable to me, mostly because I loved the story that unfolds as you progress.

I myself find Aloy to be attractive, as I've always had a thing for redheads. I get she isn't the standard super model type that people are used to seeing in games, but geez, she ain't ugly.

"Personally, I think it's silly to pit these games against each other."

Sure but it's harmless as long as it's in good fun. Oh let's pit games against movies.

Men just like to call her ugly because her looks aren't sexualized or pandering in any way, and her character isn't reliant on some other character to save her. She is hardly the feminist they think she is. She's a survivalist.

Men who can't be attracted to strong women and need slutty weak-minded and needy women certainly can't appreciate Aloy or the new Lara. And it's amusing to see them lose their minds over people liking these women.

Gameplay is decent in both games, story is bad in both games. They're equal(ly disappointing).
