Yutaka Nakamura is GOAT animator. This is his best cut in any anime yet, IMO.

I like his sword fighting stuff more. Sword of the Stranger and his bit from the Escaflowne movie were both pretty amazing. I'd still say the stuff from Stranger is the best thing he's ever done, in my opinion anyway.

I wasnt aware that this scene was by Yutaka Nakamura so thanks for that. Also, i'd also say its a hard call since this scene is amazing but I also loved Sword of the Stranger

While the animation is great there's just never any thought behind these scenes. It's just huge energy blast against huge energy blast. At least Sword of Stranger has some actual choreography.

I wholeheartedly approve of the clash of speed and energy this scene depicts but I still don't understand the use of symmetrical shaped debris. Explosions are violent and chaotic a few pieces I'd understand but most of them are cubes

to include I feel most of that debris should of been vaporized and half the arena scorched

still like the scene though, so don't mind
just your average nit picky anime/explosion enthusiast
