In the old days Patreon didn't exist and not 50% of all pictures, especially fanart, were cropped and covered in Patreon watermarks. Did artists who didn't work in the gaming/film/whatever industry like 10 years ago and created art in their free time complain? No, and neither did we. In 2017 it feels like everybody, even some ''rookies'' create a Patreon account and want to make money off their stuff. Sure, it's generally fine to charge for it if one finds supporters but on the other hand I become more and more pissed by it every year. A lot of artists can quit their jobs and do art full time (good for them), people willing to pay also win and the rest of us, well, we can't accept the massive shift digital art took when Patreon launched. Taking comissions existed before yet I guess that wasn't enough for them... $$$
