What do you know, Yang gauntlet shotguns are closer to reality. Though no one used these because you were only given one, so if you killed one enemy soldier when being captured, the other guy is likely to kill you before you could use his friend's gun.

Plus the idea, while cool, if pretty scary as you could risk serious harm to your own hand. Backyard Scientist made one and tested it, making sure to only make what was possible at the time for WW2, and it worked surprisingly well, his friends and he said it was surprisingly comfortable.
