I am almost 35yo's. I have never in my whole life met a girl like Hinata. Girls like that are purely fictional...girls that are sweet, shy, passive, very good-looking, yet with an inner strength that's to be admired. If I had met that girl, I would be married by now. It saddens me that anime is for boys much like Princess fairy tales are to girls. They depict men & women in certain ways that strike our cords of attraction, but we don't meet people like that in real life. Not without tons of baggage coming with them.

Well, technically anon 1 is right. The majority of anime really are like philosophy. Some characters tend to behave in a manor in which they should. Wishful thinking.

Still, anime has its fair share of asshole characters, to help you relate more.
