i hate to be the EVERYTHING WAS BETTER ON MY EARTH guy, but the art style of anime has actually deteriorated from the 80s. back then, the characters looked like stylized people instead of looking (and sounding)squeaky-toys.
a valiant effort, but the k-on art style needs more drastic measures to make it palatable. a few tweaks to the faces ain't gonna cut it.
