Now Viewing: ban_kenjiTag type: Character A supporting character from Heartcatch Precure! He first appears in episode 18 and is one of the victims of the Desert Apostles. He is a tall teen boy with messy black hair. He has an infamous reputation at Myoudou Academy and virtually every student in the school except newcomer Tsubomi is terrified of him. His physical resemblance to a delinquent combined with his penchant for flashing intimidating glares has frightened others so badly that they do not dare anger him. His glare is so terrifying that violent delinquents are too scared to fight him. Tsubomi is the only person who questions Kenji's reputation and she is the only student to not get scared when Kenji does his trademark glare. Tsubomi's impression of Kenji turns out to be correct. In reality, Kenji is actually a kind and sensitive boy. His infamous glare is the result of a misunderstanding. When he scared off a few delinquents at a park, he was actually feeling frustrated over his manga. When he scared off a delinquent trying to fight him, he was just upset that the delinquent threw his jacket over a group of flowers. Erika, who was initially scared of Kenji, realizes that Kenji is really a nice boy. Kenji aspires to be a mangaka and he is in the process of creating a shojo romantic drama based off of Cure Marine and Cure Blossom and starring a young man based off of himself. Erika and Tsubomi agree to help him with his manga although Kenji doesn't realize that the two girls are the Precure he admires. Kenji, however, worries that his mother Keiko will not accept or understand his dream because she has never had any experience with manga. He keeps his love of manga a secret from Keiko and his fear is exploited by Kumojacky to create a Desertrian.
