The best-known example is the Star_Wars lightsaber, but energy swords are also very common in sci-fi themed anime and manga. Notable users of this sort of weapon include Zero from the Mega Man X, Zero series, as well as Model Z of the Mega Man ZX spinoff, and ProtoMan.EXE & Colonel.EXE of the MegaMan: NT Warrior Anime and MegaMan Battle Network games.
