Now Viewing: tiffany_(girls'_generation)Tag type: Character (황미영) A Korean-American female singer born on August 1, 1989 in San Francisco, California. Her full name is Stephanie Young Hwang, but she's generally referred to as Tiffany. She was one of 2 American members of the South Korean girl group Girls'_Generation. She became interested in music after listening to Boa Kwon's work and joined a singing contest hosted by an Asian-American talent show called Kollaboration at the age of 15 where she gained the attention of a S.M. Entertainment representative. She joined the company as a trainee shortly afterwards against her father's wishes and attended Korea Kent Foreign School while she was training. She debuted as a Girls' Generation member in August 2007. In 2008, she suffered vocal nodules, necessitating surgery and a break from performing. After the surgery, her voice changed to a huskier tone. In contrast to former fellow Korean-American member Jessica, Tiffany is known for her outgoing personality and her 'eye-smiles.' She is also afraid of fish, particularly their eyes.
