He is a serious and stoic man who doesn't say much. Besides his work as a servant, he is quite talented at fixing clocks, a skill inherited from his father. Although he often seems cold, he is quite compassionate and cares a lot about his fellow coworkers. He develops a respect and fascination with Emma after she arrives in the Molders household. His role in the story is different between the manga and anime. In the latter, he develops romantic feelings for Emma although Emma still has deep feelings for William Jones.
