Now Viewing: hououmaru_reiTag type: Character A dark-skinned purple haired young woman who is usually dressed in a white suit. She wears her hair in dreadlocks. She is a minor villain from Kill_la_Kill and is Ragyou's personal assistant as well as her most loyal minion. She is generally a calm and serious young woman who is happiest when Ragyou comes closer to fulfilling her agenda, which she fully supports. Rei's loyalty is such that she considers her life to be less important than Ragyou's life or the completion of Ragyou's plans and Rei is willing to do anything to further her leader's cause. While she is not as overtly sadistic as Ragyou and Nui, she sees nothing wrong with their cruel behavior and does nothing to stop it. She often wears sunglasses when speaking directly to Ragyou to avoid being blinded by the perpetual rainbow glow radiating from Ragyou's hair. In combat, she uses her suit as a weapon. She can extends the sleeves of her suit to act as whips or as a shield. She is also superhumanly fast, being able to travel a considerable distance within an instant. Although she is minor villain for the main series, she becomes the main antagonist for the Kill la Kill special. As the only survivor amongst Ragyou's minions, she is filled with a desire for vengeance against Satsuki. The reason Rei is so loyal to Ragyou is because Ragyou saved her life when she was a little girl. She and the other members of the African village she was originally from had a special resistance to life fibers. Unfortunately, this didn't save them from being caught in a bloody civil war. Rei would've died if Ragyou didn't save her and take an interest in her thanks to her resistance to life fibers. Ragyou also gave the sunglasses she used to wear when she was still associated with Souichirou to Rei. Rei feels deeply indebted to Ragyou and is deeply haunted by her past. She believes that the Social Darwinist idea that the weak are destined to be destroyed by the strong is the truth of the world. She also uses the remaining life fibers she can find to create clones of the past selves of Satsuki and the Elite Four, essentially using the Elite Four and Satsuki's past against them and making them literally confront their past. She is voiced by Fujimura_Ayumi who also plays Mankanshoku Matarou although the two characters never interact.
