If you have not finished the anime/manga and do not want to be spoiled, do not look up more information on this film or read any further. It has now been two years since the conclusion of the Fourth Great Ninja War. However, the heroes who fought in the war are now faced with a new crisis: the moon, created by Outsutsuki Hagoromo to seal away the Gedo Statue, is about to turn into a meteor that will destroy the world. The direct descendent of Outsutsuki Kaguya, Outsutsuki Toneri, has emerged and has kidnapped Hyuuga Hinata's sister, Hanabi. Uzumaki Naruto, now a more experienced ninja, mounts a rescue mission with his allies. The film is advertised under the tagline: the last episode; a first love. Alongside the ninja action the series is known for, the film also emphasizes romance; namely, the relationship between Naruto and Hyuuga Hinata, who is the film's female lead, and how the two of them finally become the couple seen in the series epilogue. The film holds the distinction of being the most financially successful out of all the Naruto films to date, grossing 1.47 billion yen by 3 PM of the opening day.
