Now Viewing: ohkubo_atsushiTag type: Artist 大久保 篤 A male mangaka born on September 20, 1979 in Japan. From a young age, he was always more interested in art than studying. He pursued manga at a manga school where he met Ayamine Rando who he became an assistant to while Ayamine was working on Getbackers. Ohkubo made his debut with B.Ichi, which was published after he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine. His first manga was short-lived, but his second one Soul_Eater was a much bigger success and became his most notable franchise. In spite of his love of art, Ohkubo grew increasingly weary working on manga over time and announced that Enen no Shoubutai would be his final manga before retiring from the industry. He specializes in shonen action manga with an urban fantasy aesthetic with casts full of eccentric yet competent and stylish characters. In between the action and humor, his stories often take inspiration from horror with his characters teetering on the edge of madness. He is the brother of mangaka Ohkubo_Akira.
