Now Viewing: oonusaTag type: General 大幣 or 祓串 The oonusa is a Shinto ritual purification wand which resembles a gohei except with much more paper streamer decorations attached to a wooden staff or sakaki [1] (example: post #3499174). If the staff is hexagonal or octagonal it is a haraegushi. The oonusa is waved over the person, object or offering in order to transfer the sins and pollutions to it.
