She appears to be a cold and emotionless Student Council President who is aggressively repressing the SSS. The SSS dub her Tenshi (Angel) because they believe that she is a literal angel who is making people disappear from their purgatory. None of them know her real name, but protagonist Otonashi discovers it by simply asking her directly. Soon after this conversation, Otonashi and eventually the rest of the SSS begin to realize that Tenshi is nowhere near as cold as she initially seems and Otonashi becomes the first of the SSS to befriend her. Despite her small size, she is extremely strong and she herself seems to underestimate how powerful she actually is. She can also turn her hand into a blade and grow wings out of her body.
