She is known as the "Half-Human Half-Phantom". She is the Stage 5 boss of Touhou's Perfect_Cherry_Blossom and later a recurring playable character. She is the gardener of Hakugyokurou, the netherworld pagoda, and bodyguard of its "princess", Saigyouji_Yuyuko. She wields a katana, Roukanken, and a wakizashi, Hakurouken. Youmu specializes in rapid swordplay taught by her predecessor Konpaku_Youki, whose surname she took as a sign of succession. She is always followed by her phantom half, Konpaku_Youmu_(ghost), which floats beside her. She is nicknamed "Myon" in many fanworks, based on a nonsensical word (myon_(phrase)) she muttered back in Perfect_Cherry_Blossom.
