Now Viewing: kiryuuin_satsukiTag type: Character A busty dark haired teen girl who wears a white uniform and has prominent eyebrows that make her look more fierce. She almost always has a frown on her face. She is one of the main characters of Kill_la_Kill. She is the student council president of Hounnoji Academy. In this series' post-apocaplytic setting, this makes Satsuki akin to a leader of a nation and Satsuki rules Hounnoji Academy and the surrounding city like a fascist dictator. Anyone who breaks the laws is swiftly killed. Furthermore, her mother owns the school making it more difficult for anyone to oppose her. Those she deems worthy are given Goku uniforms and accordingly more power. No one dares to oppose her because of her ruthlessness and her own superb swordsmanship. Even without a uniform, she is a major threat in battle. Her underlings are completely submissive to her and she is revered like royalty. When she appears to address the students at Hounnoji, she is able to emit a blinding light simply by her incredible presence. Besides her fighting skills, she is a proficient tactician, often manipulating her enemies so that they further her plans without them realizing it. Unlike Ryuuko, she has a prim and proper image in contrast to Ryuuko's delinquent appearance. Junketsu resembles a WWII era Japanese military uniform. Satsuki even considers herself to be a pure woman with noble ambitions in spite of her brutality and claims that others unlike her can not possibly understand her. Ryuuko is the only person who openly defies her. Unlike her treatment of other rebellious students, Satsuki takes an interest in the transfer student, often giving her a chance to fight back and prove herself instead of eliminating her immediately. The only person Satsuki behaves somewhat subservient to is her own mother, Kiryuuin Ragyo but in reality, she has no intention of fulfilling her mother's plans. In fact, she hated her mother ever since she learned that her mother was plotting to have humans consumed by life fibers, which she learned about from her father. Satsuki is also angry with her mother for being responsible for her younger sister's death when Ragyou experimented on the newborn and disposed of her after she apparently died. Satsuki wants to both change the world and avenge her younger sister and spent most of her life plotting to one day kill Ragyou who she regards as a 'pig in human clothing.' This is also why Satsuki does not kill Ryuuko even though she is capable of doing so, she intentionally pushes Ryuuko to her limits so that Ryuuko can become strong enough to help Satsuki in her battle against Ragyou and the Life Fibers. It is also why Satsuki rules over Honnouji Academy with an iron fist and preaches Social Darwinist rhetoric. The school is essentially a giant military center designed to craft its students into the strongest soldiers possible while removing anyone who might be a liability to Satsuki's cause. Satsuki also operates under the idea that the strong deserve to dominate the weak and she expresses contempt for people she believes to be weak in resolve. Conversely, she is willing to give second chances to people who prove their resolve. Like Ryuuko, she also has a living, revealing combat uniform. Hers is called Junketsu which means purity. She also has no qualms about wearing it. While Satsuki usually dresses conservatively, her combat uniform reveals her to have a rather prominent bust and butt. Despite her fierce image, she is notably nicer to the Elite Four as well as her butler Soroi_Mitsuzo. They are the only people she trusts and is more willing to show a softer side to. Satsuki herself notes that she used to be a much kinder and considerate girl when she was a child, but after she learned the truth about her mother, she turned into a fierce and ambitious person willing to do whatever it takes to stop her mother and the life fibers. However, Satsuki gradually becomes a kinder and warmer person like her old self as she comes to realize that she views the Elite Four as not just useful minions but also her friends. She also admits to Ryuuko that she has spent most of her life manipulating others, including Ryuuko, making her just like her ruthless mother and vows to stop doing this and cast aside her former Social Darwinist beliefs. She then humbly asks Ryuuko, who she now knows is the younger sister who she spent most of her life trying to avenge, to help her in her battle against Ragyou and the life fibers instead of manipulating Ryuuko into helping her like she did before. After the two girls reconcile with each other, Satsuki begins to smile more and show her compassion more openly. Unlike her mother's sinister expressions, whenever Satsuki smiles genuinely she appears warmer and gentler. She is also childhood friends with Jakuzure_Nonon. Her theme song is KIRYUG@KILL (Track 6 on the soundtrack), composed by Sawano Hiroyuki. She is voiced by Yuzuki_Ryouka.
