In her debut appearance she looked exactly the same as Kizuna Ai, but longtime fans realized that her voice was distinctly different from the original Kizuna Ai, voiced by Kasuga Nozomi. This led to fan backlash against the channel and active8, which initially did not explain the sudden change, but later released a public document explaining their plans for AI Channel. She was later made into a distinct character from Ai, starting off by giving her a blue # hairclip. In spite of the controversy, she and the other main alternate Ai, Ai-pii, gained fans of their own. After AI Channel broke off from active8, the decision was made to have the original Ai return to being the main star of the AI Channel while ai-pii and Love-chan spun off into their own channel, love-pii channel, which was launched on April 8, 2020. She and ai-pii initially appeared as their original Kizuna Ai clone selves, but announced that they would return with a new look. Love-chan kept the blue # , but it was changed to being one of her earrings. She was radically redesigned into a blue-eyed young woman with long pink hair.
