(だんご大家族) The Great Dango Family


An in-universe series that Furukawa Nagisa of Clannad is a major fan of. The eponymous dangos come in all sorts of colors, but all of them are drawn with straight line eyes, reminiscent of the eyes on various background objects in the Super Mario Bros. series. The ending song of the first season of the CLANNAD anime is also titled Dango Daikazoku and the lyrics are set to the melody of Nagisa's theme and also foreshadow the series' story and message. The song is performed by Chata. Note that this does not cover every image of dangos, only ones where the dangos are depicted the same way they are depicted in CLANNAD and in the ending animation of the first season.
