Now Viewing: fuyutsuki_azusaTag type: Character A black haired young woman with short hair from GTO. She is Onizuka's main love interest and a fellow teacher at Holy Forest Academy. She and Onizuka develop an attraction to each other almost immediately after they first meet. She is a kind and gentle woman who shares Onizuka's desire to help students and tries as hard as she can to smile and appear approachable. However, she is much more timid than Onizuka and while her male students like her, her female students hate her, believing her to be just a pretty face, and bully her to the point that she ends up crying in private. She shares her woes with Onizuka who tells her to be true to herself and allow herself to be tough with her students when necessary. She takes his advice to heart and is more successful as a teacher afterwards. Her good looks also lead her to become the target of fellow teacher Teshigawara Suguru who is psychotically obsessed with her. Although she is not as wild and aggressive as Onizuka, she is tougher than she looks and after taking Onizuka's advice she is not afraid to resist people who attempt to harm her. When pushed, she is also willing to use over the top strategies that rival Onizuka's such as a brutal cram session she devises for Onizuka so that he can pass a test to prove his credibility as a teacher. Her character is portrayed very differently in the 1998 live action series. She is depicted with long hair as opposed to the short haircut she has in the anime/manga. Although she is not openly hostile to her students, she is much more cynical about teaching and does not care much for the job. What she really wants to do is to be a stewardess. She is also initially put off by Onizuka's behavior, but as she observes Onizuka's actions, she grows more positive about teaching and also develops feelings for Onizuka which Onizuka reciprocates. The romance between Onizuka and Fuyutsuki in the TV series was also reflected by their real life actors who married each other after the show's conclusion. Her 2012 series incarnation is closer to the anime/manga portrayal but still has a few differences. Like Onizuka, she has a desire to bond with her students and does not agree with how the other teachers seem to only care about their personal status. However, Fuyutsuki is initially too timid and submissive to be able to express her true feelings and often worries about whether or not she is a good teacher. As she spends more time with Onizuka, she gains the courage to become the brave, sincere, and caring teacher she wants to be and begins to fall in love with him. Unlike previous incarnations, Onizuka and Fuyutsuki's relationship dynamic is different in that Onizuka doesn't show as much romantic interest in her. She is voiced by Orikasa_Fumiko.
