It was obtainable from the unicorn-like elder dragon Kirin_(Monster_Hunter) from the first Monster Hunter on ps2's online mode before it was shut down and Capcom moved on from it. It has the highest physical defense of all the armor sets in the original Monster Hunter for ps2. It is one of the most popular and famous armor sets in the history of the series and the female armor set is often used in monster hunter related images. Its look is not to be confused with Barioth_(Armor) from the third Generation of Monster Hunter series of games onwards.
