@Anon3 He's not really manipulating him. Lysandre is up front about who he is and how he operates. He just presents himself as the good guy (which makes sense, most villains don't see themselves as evil) and Alain buys it because he trusts him and wants power. Alain isn't a corrupt person, but he's definitely an Anti-Villain right now. He's a really well-rounded character!
